DAGUPAN CITY – Mayor Belen T. Fernandez lauded the Dagupan City Police Station (DCPS) for the arrest of notorious drug personalities here in a series of buy-bust operations at the start of 2016.
On January 1, 2 and 3, joint operatives of the DCPS and Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency Region 1 (PDEA RO1) conducted drug bust operations in three separate places in line with the city’s continuing fight against illegal drugs.
The operations led to the arrest of Michael Balolong Y Banot, 40 years old, married ,technician and a resident of 325 Sitio America, Bonuan Binloc; Randy Arieta y Sison, 47 years old, married, security guard former resident of Sitio Pagkakaisa, Bonuan Gueset and presently residing at Tonton East, Lingayen, Pangasinan; Roque Ugaban y Quinto, 42 years old, tricycle driver and a resident of 01Calarin Road, Barangay Malued; Elmer Canave y Quitlong aka BRIX, 39 years old, married, jobless and a resident of 188 Arellano Street; and Marvin Santos y Viernes, 31 years old, farmer and a resident 237 Dalogue, Sta Barbara, Pangasinan.
Balolong was arrested at CSI the City Mall on January 1 for selling shabu worth P500 to DCPS personnel who acted as poseur buyer while Canave was arrested on January 3 in front of STI School on Arellano for selling shabu worth P300.00.
Arieta and Ugaban were apprehended on January 2 at sitio Palatong, Bonuan Binloc following an Oplan Sita operation in the area by the DCPS mobile patrol. Confiscated from their possession, control and custody were three small heat -sealed transparent plastic sachets containing suspected shabu worth P6,500.
The duo sped off on board their tricycle when reaching the National Road after coming from sitio Silungan in Bonuan Binloc and were later cornered by the pursuing operatives at sitio Palatong, Bonuan Binloc.
When cornered, Arieta immediately threw a cigarette pack to the ground which contained shabu.
Santos was arrested when DCPS operatives were conducting operation Oplan Sita on Arellano Street on January 3. He was initially flagged down for not wearing helmet. While the DCPS operatives were in the process of issuing ticket and conducting verification of the motorcycle, the suspect’s head bonnet fell along with his wigs. The operatives were surprised to see two heat- sealed plastic sachets containing shabu under the wig. Santos was immediately arrested.
