DAGUPAN 2017 INTER-BARANGAY TOURNAMENT WINNERS

DAGUPAN CITY – Malued Gators and Mamalingling Aguila ruled the barangay family volleyball and basketball tournaments, respectively, in the 2017 Inter-Barangay Tournament, facilitated by the Dagupan City Sports Commission.

Winners were presented their trophies and cash prizes during the Barangay Night on December 27 with Congressman Christopher de Venecia, Mayor Belen T. Fernandez, Pogo-Chico Punong Barangay Dean Bryan Kua and 2017 City Fiesta Hermano Mayor and Liga president Marcelino Fernandez giving the awards.

In the 21 and below basketball tournament, Carael won the championship trophy over 1st runner-up Pantal Galaxy by just two points.

Second runner-up was Poblacion Oeste while Bonuan Gueset Bulls ended as third runner- up.

Declared as Most Valuable Player was Macky Ferrer of Barangay Carael.

In the barangay family basketball, Tambac Knights settled for the first runner-up after losing against Mamalingling Aguila in the championship round.

Second runner up was Poblacion Oeste while third runner -up was Caranglaan Vipers.

In the volleyball tournament, Carael failed to topple the Malued Gators and ended the tourney as first runner-up.

Second runner-up was Pogo-Chico Stars and third runner up was Bonuan Boquig Archangel.

Declared as Most Valuable Player was Alma Raymundo of Malued Gators.

The champions received P18,000; first runner up, P10,000; second runner up, P8,000 and third runner up, P5,000. (Joseph C. Bacani/CIO/Dec. 28, 2017)
