DAGUPAN CITY – A new health center will soon rise in Barangay Pugaro under the “Your Taxes Made This Possible” program of Mayor Belen T. Fernandez.
Fernandez, along with Barangay Pugaro Punong Barangay Nestor Victorio, Liga ng mga Barangay President Marcelino Fernandez, City Health Officer Dr. Ophelia T. Rivera and City Engineer Virginia V. Rosario led the groundbreaking ceremony of the new health center on July 25 on a lot donated to the barangay.
“This is an example of bringing the government closer to the people,” said Fernandez.
The new health center has a budget of P600,000. It will serve the people in the island barangay without them going to the City Health Office located at Perez Market site any more.
The city assigned one doctor in Barangay Pugaro to look after the health of the people in the area.
Aside from this, Fernandez promised the residents that soon their barangay will be a tourism site as plans and programs of developing the area is now in the drawing board. (Joseph C. Bacani/CIO/July 28, 2017)
