CITY TO CONSTRUCT TWO-STOREY SCHOOL BUILDING FOR CHILDREN WITH DISABILITIES

DAGUPAN CITY – So that parents of children with disabilities will send their children to school, Mayor Belen T. Fernandez in her visit to West Central 1 Elementary School on the first day of school year on June 5, bared her plan to construct a two-storey school building for them during her term.

This is aside from her promise to also construct a covered court in front of the school in order to shield the children from the heat of the sun and from the rain when they attend every Monday’s flag raising ceremony.

“We are investing so much in helping our schools because we want our children to finish their schooling in elementary and high school and even to college under our MBTF scholarship program where we allotted P15 million so they can finish their college and be of help to their families,” said Fernandez in an interview.

In the last Brigada Eskwela, the city extended its support to all public schools by providing each with construction materials needed for the rehabilitation of almost all classrooms to make it conducive for learning at the opening of classes.

Soon, Dagupan City National High School will also inaugurate its first school of the Arts building with additional budget of P7 million for the purchase of equipment, which will come from the city’s supplemental budget.
