DAGUPAN CITY – The event that recognizes the dancing talent of young Dagupeños while at the same time encourages them to be socially involved in community projects is back in the 2015 Dagupan City Fiesta.
The competition, to be held December 11 with the Pangasinan Finest Rappers as guests, is now on its third year after scoring stunning successes during the past two years.
Hermano Mayor Jose Netu Tamayo is inviting every young Dagupeño to start forming their dance group in the barangay, each with minimum members of six and a maximum of 12 members.
The dance group may be and all male, all female or a combination of both sexes and the members must be at least 12 years old.
A barangay may endorse not more than two dance groups for the competition set in front of the CSI Market Square if they qualify in the elimination round.
“November 28 will be the date of the elimination round at the Dagupan City Museum. Each dance group will be given a maximum of two minutes to perform, where the judges will select the top 15 performers,” said Robert A. Aliguin Jr., event coordinator.
The competitors will be judged based on their positive community activity, choreography, synchronization, stage presence and deportation, and costume.
“For more details please visit the Culture and Arts Office at the city museum,” said Aliguin. (Joseph C. Bacani/CIO/Nov. 4, 2015)
